What I build

The exclusions matter as much as the inclusions. They are written down here so nothing is a surprise later, and they go into the quote word for word.

Not included

  • Redesigning or rebuilding — this is a repair
  • New pages, new content, new photographs
  • Your hosting and domain fees, paid to your provider
  • Moving the domain between registrars
  • Email or inbox problems

If it cannot be saved, you pay nothing. If within the first hour it is clear the site cannot be recovered — no backup and no access — I tell you, and there is no charge.

M-Pesa Payments On A Site You Already Have

  • The customer types their phone number, the M-Pesa PIN prompt appears on their handset, they pay, and the site confirms it by itself — no screenshots, no “I have sent it”
  • Callback handling with retry, so a payment is not lost if the site is briefly down. This is the part usually done badly, and it is why payments go missing
  • A payments list: who paid, how much, when, and the M-Pesa receipt code
  • A status check for when a customer's phone dies mid-payment
  • Tested in Safaricom's sandbox, then one real shilling put through the live system and shown working before handover
  • The Daraja application prepared and submitted for you

Not included

  • Safaricom's own go-live approval. Everything is prepared and submitted correctly, but their timeline is theirs — and waiting time is never invoiced
  • Registering a Paybill or Till number, and Safaricom's fees for it
  • Paying money out — disbursements and refunds to customers are a separate quote
  • Safaricom's transaction charges
  • Any change to how your existing site looks

I never log into your M-Pesa portal. It runs on your own Daraja credentials, or you forward the statement. That is structural, not a preference.

  • A restore actually tested once a month, with the date recorded. An untested backup is not a backup
  • Security and plugin updates
  • Up to 2 hours of small changes a month — text, prices, photos, opening hours
  • A one-page monthly report: uptime, backups taken, restore test date, changes made

Not included

  • New pages, new features, redesigns — quoted separately
  • Unused change-hours do not roll over
  • Your own hosting and domain fees
  • Content writing, SEO campaigns, advertising, social media
  • Repairing a site broken by someone else's changes made without telling me

There is no night desk. I have a full-time job and I would rather say so than imply a 24-hour service I cannot staff. Response is within one working day.

How I work

Four rules I do not bend

These cost me work sometimes. They are here because you deserve to know them before you pay, not after.

Everything is in your name

Domain, hosting, Safaricom credentials, logins — all registered to you, on your own accounts. If you stop working with me tomorrow, you lose nothing and you need my permission for nothing.

I do not hold your passwords

I never log into your M-Pesa portal or your bank on your behalf. Where I need access to build, you grant it and you can revoke it.

The exclusions go in the quote

Every list above appears word for word in what you sign. A fixed price only means something if both sides know exactly what it covers.

I tell you what I have not done

I will not claim experience I do not have to win a job. If something is outside what I have built before, you will hear that from me first.

A website I built and still maintain for a registered NGO — photo and video slider, pledge form, mobile layout. It has been live for months and I keep it running. Open it on your phone; that is how most of your visitors will see your own site too.

A local jobs and services marketplace

A marketplace built for Kilgoris and Transmara, with a signed Android app you can install. The site and the app are deployed and working; the payment side is finished but still waiting on Safaricom credentials — so I demonstrate it rather than send you to it. I would rather show you the real thing than describe a screenshot.

M-Pesa and card payments in production

I have built and run M-Pesa and card payment systems against the live Safaricom and Paystack systems — including the awkward parts: refunds, PIN challenges, OTP challenges, and retrying a payment confirmation that did not arrive the first time. These were built on my own projects, not yet delivered for a client, and I would rather you hear that from me now than find it out later.

I send a fixed price and a date

Within one working day. The price does not move, and the exclusions above are written into it. If it is not something I should take on, I tell you that instead.

You pay half, and the clock starts

Except Site Rescue, which you pay only when it is done. The delivery days start when I have what I need from you — text, photos, or credentials.

I build, and you see it before it goes live

You review it on your own phone. Two rounds of changes are included before handover, so nothing is a surprise.

Handover — everything in your name

One hour together, every password transferred to you, and the remaining half paid. From that moment you can carry on without me if you want to.

Who you are dealing with

One person, not an agency

I am Tony. I build websites and payment systems, and I live and work in Transmara. If you hire me, I am the person who writes the code, sends the invoice and answers the phone — there is no team to be handed off to.

I also have a full-time job. I build in the evenings and at weekends, and I would rather tell you that now than have you discover it when I do not answer at 2pm. It is why the delivery dates above are in calendar days rather than hours, and why I quote fewer jobs than an agency would.

Droneverse Digital is the software side of Droneverse Limited, a Kenyan company that also does drone work and aerial mapping.

Questions people actually ask

Before you send the first message

How do I know you will finish?

You do not, yet — and anyone who tells you otherwise on a first meeting is selling. What I can offer is structure: half the money is held until handover, the price is fixed, the date is in writing, and everything is registered in your name from day one. On Site Rescue you pay nothing at all until it works. If I disappear, you still own your domain, your hosting and your accounts.

I already have a website. Do I have to start again?

No, and usually you should not. M-Pesa payments and the reconciliation sheet are both built onto a site you already have — I do not touch how it looks. If your site is broken rather than out of date, Site Rescue is KSh 5,000 and takes three days.

Do I need to understand any of this?

No. You need to be able to receive an email and tap a button on your phone. I set up the Safaricom side, submit the Daraja application for you, and hand you a one-page explanation in plain English at the end.

How long does Safaricom take to approve M-Pesa?

Honestly — it varies, and it is outside my control. I prepare and submit everything correctly, and I do not invoice you for the waiting. The fourteen days I quote is my work; Safaricom's queue is theirs.

Will you hold my M-Pesa or bank logins?

Never. Everything runs on your own Safaricom Daraja credentials, on your own account. Where I need access to build something, you grant it and you can take it away. This is not a policy I would bend for a bigger job.
